About the Journal

Imago Musicae is an international peer-reviewed yearbook that focuses on the relationship between music and the visual arts. Founded in 1984 under the auspices of Répertoire International d’Iconographie Musicale , it was edited for nearly three decades by Tilman Seebass. The publication includes research articles in English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish from the most authoritative scholars. It is an indispensable tool for musicologists, art historians, archeologists, cultural historians, and ethnomusicologists, among others.
