About
LIMAteneo is a website that serves the musicological world by allowing users to follow the entire publication process of their scientific essay and to easily consult the content offered by LIM Editrice srl (hereinafter LIM) in open access. The site also allows for simplified but rigorous management of the entire peer review process, which is documented and respects anonymity. Publications that undergo the review process promoted by LIM will have an officially certified and documented connotation that will increase their scientific value in the eyes of scientific validation authorities. In addition to this, the LIM Ateneo site has a multitude of functions specifically designed and activated to enable a rapid, effective, and reliable information dissemination process: from simple announcements to more complex and articulated studies carried out in international collaboration.
To access the various services, users will need to register (which may be limited to a single journal/series or to the generalist part of the site). For obvious reasons of privacy protection, the process is not editable by LIM, so accuracy and completeness of the data entered is recommended. Please provide a valid and, if possible, stable email address over time; through your email inbox, in fact, all the most important information functions regarding your activities on the site will be carried out, such as any submissions, the progress of the review process, the exchange of requests and data with the editorial staff and the final validation process. Also equip yourself with a secure password. In case of loss, however, it will always be possible to activate a simple automatic procedure for resetting a new password.
The site is structured to be managed intuitively and easily; however, LIM recommends that users who are having difficulty consult the documentation (in English) available here: PKP Docs - Documentation for OJS, OMP and all of the Public Knowledge Project's software (sfu.ca)
During the registration process, you will also be asked about the role you want to have within the site. You can register as users with simple consultation possibilities of the site itself, or as authors, reviewers, members of the scientific committee or, finally, as journal and series directors. Roles can be multiple. Roles can change, in the sense that a user registered as an author can modify their profile and add the role of reviewer (or other) and vice versa, at any time and without limitations. Each role allows access to specific sections of the site characterized by different levels of access and allows the performance of different functions. For example, the author role allows you to follow the editorial review and peer review process of your contribution; receive reviewers’ considerations privately, update the material sent to the editorial office (both textual and graphic apparatuses and/or musical examples). While the reviewer will have access to the specific functions of their role: they will receive anonymized texts to review, fill in the forms related to the review (forms that will be automatically archived and will constitute proof of the review and will maximize its academic value).
LIM thanks you for registering on the LimAteneo platform and reminds you that during office hours you can contact the editorial staff at 0583/394464 for assistance if needed. In the coming months, with your collaboration, we will see the new LimAteneo site grow and we and you, together will explore its new potentialities.
