About the Journal
The Rivista di Analisi e Teoria Musicale is a peer-reviewed journal founded in 1994 by the scientific association GATM – Gruppo Analisi e Teoria Musicale.
It publishes studies in Italian and English dedicated to the analysis of repertoires and musical practices from every historical period, genre, style, and geographical origin. Special attention is given to the interactions between theory, aesthetics, and hermeneutics; the history of music theory and the study of creative processes; performance practices and the analysis of performance; dynamics of listening and contributions from cognitive sciences in interpreting the musical experience.
In addition to welcoming contributions from scholars, the Journal promotes the publication of monographic volumes dedicated to theoretical and methodological issues of particular importance in the landscape of international studies.
